During her appearance on the Hitting The Turnbuckle Podcast, Collett talked about the attention she received after making a comment about “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. She said it started as a silly remark about her celebrity crush, but it didn’t stay small for long.
“I made a silly little goose joke about my celebrity crush and it made breaking news within 30 minutes.”
Collett said it happened again when she commented on Shane Mercer’s post during WrestleMania weekend. She explained that she missed a chance to meet Steve Austin while dealing with a hectic schedule of shows, meet-and-greets, and JCW tour duties.
“My comment made f**ing headline news, and it was a joke.”*
That is when Paige summed up how wild the attention has gotten around her name. As far as she is concerned, anything she says can get picked up now.
“Dude, if I fart, someone will report it.”
The host immediately ran with it and threw out the headline himself.
“There you go. It’s going to be reported now. Paige farts, ladies and gentlemen. There’s your headline. Take that one.”
The moment came during a loose part of the interview, but Paige’s point was pretty clear. Her name is getting more attention through JCW, her Ring Rat character, and her viral moments, and now even throwaway comments are being turned into stories.
