The future of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy is still up in the air despite PCB’s stand-off with BCCI going on for weeks. The whole drama started when BCCI informed the ICC that they will not allow Team India to travel to Pakistan in order to participate in the tournament. Since then, the PCB has stood firm on their stance of hosting every game of the ICC event in Pakistan only.

There have been several meetings and discussions to arrive at a conclusion, which looks most likely to be a hybrid model, where India play their matches at a neutral venue. With the final decision yet to arrive, PCB have reportedly made a massive demand to the ICC.

According to various reports, BCCI and PCB have reached an agreement that all ICC tournaments that will be hosted by India until 2027 will be held in hybrid mode.

According to report by IANS, PCB has demanded a written assurance from the ICC that the hybrid model be implemented for tournaments that will be hosted by India in the coming years.

“Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) wants a written assurance from the World body (ICC) regarding a hybrid model for the future international events to be hosted by India. Decision on Champions Trophy most likely by Wednesday,” a source told IANS.

According to various other reports, all of India’s group stage games of the Champions Trophy will be played in Dubai, including the marquee clash against Pakistan. The semi-final and final will also be played in Dubai should India qualify.
