Pakistan captain Babar Azam, wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan and pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi are yet to get their No Objection Certificates(NOCs) from nation’s Cricket Board (PCB), to participate in the Global T20 Canada league. Though the PCB issued NOCs to 12 players for different leagues on Tuesday, but this trio, who come on the top bracket of contracts, is still waiting for their clearance.
An official from PCB said, “The PCB is not comfortable with the status of the Global League and has sought some information from the organizers and ICC, which is why the issuance of NOCs have been delayed.”
Following the Global T20 Canada League , which is scheduled to be held from July 25 to August 11, Pakistan’s Test series against Bangladesh at home will start around August 19.
The players who have been issued NOCs for different leagues are:-
- Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf and Zaman Khan for the USA Major League- July 4 to 28.
- Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Hasnain, Salman Ali Agha and Shadab Khan for Lanka Premier League- Ongoing and ends on July 21.
- Fakhar Zaman for Caribbean Premier League- August 29 to October 6.
- Usama Mir for the Hundred- July 23 to August 20.
- Mohammad Amir for County Cricket.
To our surprise, the PCB has not issued clearance to youngsters Sain Ayub and Azam Khan for the CPL.
