Persephone Comments on Her Loss in 2026 Women’s Owen Hart Cup & Targeting Triangle of Madness for Revenge

As noted before, Saturday’s AEW Collision show in Youngstown, Ohio featured Hazuki defeating Persephone in a Quarterfinal Round match in this year’s Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament. This match was notable for Persephone dealing with the effects of a black mist attack by Triangle of Madness’ Julia Hart this past April.

Following the show, AEW released a digital exclusive backstage video featuring Persephone reflecting on her loss to Hazuki to eliminate her from this year’s Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament and her targeting Triangle of Madness for revenge over it.

“I’m a god. I’m a god. I said I could wrestle blind. I said I could wrestle with my hands tied behind my back. Because I’m a god. But maybe I was wrong. Maybe I’m not a god. Maybe because I tried it and I failed. But maybe I went too fast. Maybe I pushed myself too hard. Maybe… I wasn’t ready, but I just, I was sick of it. I was tired of being at home week after week watching championship matches slip away, getting pulled out of important shows. I just couldn’t take it anymore. So I had to risk it, and I lost. I lost. No, this god isn’t dead yet. No, this god will never die, and I need to keep risking it. I will keep risking it until I get what I want. So we need to go back to the start. Triangle, Thekla, Julia, Skye, it’s not gonna be an eye for an eye. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. It’s an eye for all of your asses.”

Maria Kanellis Comments on Not Feeling She Really Got To Accomplish Everything She Wanted To In Her Time With AEW

Wrestling Life Online held a recent interview with former AEW and Ring of Honor talent Maria Kanellis. One of the topics discussed included Kanellis’ thoughts about her time with AEW from 2022 to 2025 and her feeling that she really did not get to accomplish everything she wanted to do during her time in the company.

“So with my time in AEW, I feel like I didn’t really get to accomplish everything that I wanted to. I appreciate the opportunity. I appreciate the fact that I got to work with such tremendous talent. But it just-I got my tumor right around the time my contract was ending, and so it just kind of ended, and it’s sad for me because, you know, I had so many years in the wrestling industry and so many fantastic memories, and for it to end that way was really disheartening, and it just, it was bad timing, and, you know, Tony Khan was very sweet about, you know, wishing me well on my tumor and everything like that. But for me, professionally, I just felt like I could do more.”
