Persephone is officially sidelined, and her injury has already forced changes to an upcoming ROH title match.
Tony Khan confirmed ahead of AEW Collision that Persephone is out indefinitely after being affected by Julia Hart’s mist during Collision Playoff Palooza. The situation immediately removed her from plans for ROH Supercard of Honor on May 15, where she had been scheduled to compete in the Survival of the Fittest match to crown the ROH Women’s Champion.
With Persephone unable to compete, a replacement match has already been put in motion. Zayda Steel will face Hyan, with the winner earning Persephone’s spot in the Survival of the Fittest field.
The injury comes shortly after Persephone teamed with Alex Windsor at Collision Playoff Palooza, where they lost to Julia Hart and AEW Women’s Champion Thekla. That match now stands as her most recent appearance before being taken off the card.
Persephone’s removal adds another shake-up to the Supercard of Honor lineup, especially with a championship opportunity now up for grabs due to her absence.
Do you think the replacement winner will make the most of this opportunity, or should Persephone get another title shot once she returns? Leave your thoughts and feedback below.
