The Packers signed Tyrod Taylor to back up Jordan Love, betting on his experience and veteran presence elevating the quarterback room and the rest of the offense.
In the early days since his arrival, Green bay is already seeing those dividends paying off behind the scenes.
Packers’ Luke Getsy raves about Tyrod Taylor’s presence
Less than a week after signing with the Packers, quarterbacks coach Luke Getsy says he’s already seeing value in Taylor’s presence alongside Love in the quarterback room.
“He’s only been here a couple days, but the cool part, when he walked in the room, you could feel the presence, the confidence, the composure,” Getsy told reporters. “He’s seen a lot. He’s been in a lot of different systems. And so that part of it, just how quickly he’s able to pick up on things.”

Taylor, 36, has struggled to stay healthy in recent years, but last season with the New York Jets passed for 779 yards with five touchdowns to five interceptions. While Green Bay is hoping that Taylor never sees the field in meaningful regular season action, Getsy is impressed by what Taylor has shown on the practice field this spring.
“He showed up and we were going to drills and stuff, and he’s a true pro,” Getsy said. “It was pretty cool to see. And as far as the juice, he’s definitely still got that.”
