Longstanding Florida-based tennis coach Kyle LaCroix (setsconsult.org) is featured prominently in the latest issue of tennisplayer.net. LaCroix’s engaging story, “The Future of Coaching: Why Movement Intelligence is the Next Frontier in Junior Tennis,” provides a thoughtful view on footwork and how contemporary coaches can best understand and teach it.
“The future of coaching is not about doing more,” writes LaCroix. “It is about seeing differently. Seeing movement not as steps to memorize, but as problems to solve. Because in the end, the best movers are not the fastest. They are the most aware.”

LaCroix’s story is one of four original pieces featured in tennisplayer.net – a new issue titled, “The Next Big Things in Junior Tennis.” The sport’s preeminent instructional publication, tennisplayer.net for more than 20 years has delivered deep dives into techniques, tactics, fitness, and more – and is backed by an unsurpassed archive of 1,600 articles and 70,000 videos.
“We are on a quest to help everyone from motivated juniors to ambitious adults to lifelong coaches learn, compete, and improve,” said tennisplayer.net executive editor Joel Drucker. “With the highly competitive summer season coming soon, we thought it would be great to focus this issue on juniors – but I’m also certain adults will benefit from these stories too.”
The three additional new pieces are authored by a trio of highly experienced experts.

Brian Teacher, a coach for more than 25 years, who won the 1980 Australian Open, earned All-American honors at UCLA, and was ranked inside the top ten in both singles and doubles, has authored, “Building World-Class Footwork” – a bold piece that explores the physical effort it takes to build effective footwork skills.
Teacher’s fellow Bruin, Barry Buss, most recently author of the new book, First Ball To Last: Emotional Intelligence For The Competitive Tennis Player, has authored, “So You’re Taking Your Child to Nationals for the First Time,” a piece certain to aid families.
And veteran tennisplayer.net editor and art director Giancarlo “GC” Andreani offers a fascinating look at a technique that’s become more prevalent over the last 15 years: sliding on hard courts.
In addition to these new stories, the current issue of tennisplayer.net features several “Classics” on a variety of topics, including insights on biomechanics from Florida-based Brian Gordon and discipline, authored by the late Robert Lansdorp.
