The new Rafa Nadal Museum has opened its doors in Manacor. Rafa himself hosted the event, at which he unveiled one of his most special projects: “Today is a very special day for me, my family and my team. I hope you all enjoy it”, he said.
Titled Inside the Legend, the space spans two floors that explore the life of Rafael Nadal both on and off the court and invites visitors to discover how a legend is built and who the person is beyond his sporting achievements.
We have seen everything from Rafa: fighting for every point as if it were his last, suffering, dreaming, crying, winning with humility and losing with dignity. He allowed an entire country and generation to dream. But one big question remains: How was he able to achieve everything he did? How is a legend created? This is the creative concept that inspired the new museum, which is located within the Rafa Nadal Academy.
An immersive journey into Rafa Nadal’s inner world
The tour begins with a striking immersive audiovisual tunnel, introducing visitors to the mind of the young Rafa, his childhood dreams and the passion for sport that shaped his first steps. From there, the museum reveals an emotional and experiential journey through the key stages of his life and career.
Among the new spaces, Sporting Legends stands out, a large hall dedicated to athletes who have inspired Rafa Nadal, featuring original objects from iconic figures such as Michael Jordan, Serena Williams, Tiger Woods, Usain Bolt, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Pau Gasol, among others.
The Origins zone offers a closer look at the boy who dreamed of becoming a tennis player, featuring his first racket and his childhood memories. Meanwhile, King of Clay pays tribute to Nadal’s unparalleled career on clay, with trophies and facts illustrating his historic dominance on the surface.
Another eagerly awaited area is dedicated to the Big Three, where visitors can revisit the rivalry and shared legacy of Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic through a unique audiovisual zone, original objects and stats that defined a golden era of world tennis.
The museum also features areas dedicated to Nadal’s 22 Grand Slam titles, his triumphs with Spain at the Olympic Games and the Davis Cup, his ATP trophies, and various immersive spaces allowing visitors to connect with the most iconic moments of his career.
The legacy of an unrepeatable era
The experience culminates with Inside the Legend, an immersive audiovisual space that reveals the values, emotions and challenges that forged Rafa Nadal’s greatness, and connects with his legacy today through the Rafa Nadal Academy and the Rafa Nadal Foundation.
The museum also includes interactive zones where visitors can test themselves with various sporting and technological challenges. Through simulators, reaction games and dynamic experiences, the public can measure their speed, reflexes, coordination and accuracy, experiencing first-hand the physical and mental demands of elite sport.
Additionally, visitors can complete their visit with a guided tour of the Rafa Nadal Academy and get an up-close look at the facilities and training environment of one of the world’s leading sports centres.
An essential visit
Since its inauguration in 2016, the museum has become one of the most visited in the Balearic Islands, receiving an average of over 100,000 visitors per year, and is now an international benchmark for tennis and sport fans. Through this new concept, the Rafa Nadal Museum takes a step forward in innovation, storytelling and immersive experiences thanks to the work developed in collaboration with Mediapro.
With this comprehensive renovation, the Rafa Nadal Museum reaffirms itself as an essential stop for Rafa Nadal fans, tennis lovers, and sports enthusiasts, and as one of Mallorca’s major cultural and tourist attractions.
