It was a spectacular T20 World Cup campaign as India finally ended their long wait of 11 years for an ICC trophy. The Men In Blue defeated South Africa by 7 runs as Rohit Sharma led India to their 2nd World Cup title.

Emotions were on peak as India was into their second ICC final within seven months after the disappointing ICC ODI World Cup last year. So, there was no room for any mistakes. Virat Kohli once again proved his class as his 59 ball 76 set the Indian bowlers in the perfect stge.

Hardik Pandya’s brilliant spells restricted South Africa to 169 as the Kensington Oval Barbados erupted in joy. Virat Kohli now has won every ICC trophy possible in the white ball format, along with a winning medal in each champion trophy, ICC ODI World Cup and T20 World Cup.

But the 35-year-old is yet to taste a success in the World Test Championship, The new title in the long format introduced by ICC back in 2019. India reached the final on both occasions but went on to lose against New Zealand and Australia respectively.

Now, Virat will have another shot at getting a hand at that trophy as India is currently sitting at the top of the WTC standings.

During the T20 World Cup celebrations, in the Indian dressing room, Rahul Dravid reminded Virat that he still has some work to do. Dravid told the Indian batter, “All three whites ticked off, One red to go. tick it.”

Along Virat, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja also held their hands up from the shortest game format and will now concentrate on WTC trophy, which hey have not been able to secure in a long while.

Virat did guide India to the top of the ICC test rankings during his captaincy. But the WTC trophy will be the last hit on the nail which would further establish his authority in the long format.
