Out-of-favor Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee could reportedly return to Serie A two years after leaving Bologna. According to Calciomercato, the Dutchman’s representatives have offered his services to Juventus and Roma.
Joshua Zirkzee joined Man Utd for a reported fee of £36.5 million in the summer of 2024. Despite his impressive two-year stint at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, he has failed to find his footing in the Premier League. Therefore, he could make a swift return to Serie A.
Zirkzee has been on the fringes at Old Trafford this season. Nailed to the bottom of the pecking order, he has made just five league starts. Overall, he has tallied only two goals and one assist across 23 league appearances. As such, it’s no wonder that the Red Devils are keen to offload him in the summer.
Man Utd Flop Joshua Zirkzee Offered to Serie A Sides Roma & Juventus
Zirkzee’s market value has dropped to around €25 million. That’s well within the reach of the two Serie A sides. However, his underwhelming stint at Man Utd could deter both Roma and Juventus from offering him a way back to Italy’s top flight.
A move to Turin would make sense if Jonathan David leaves the club, which, at this point, feels like a virtual certainty. Meanwhile, Roma may need to replace Paulo Dybala, who is close to departing the Giallorossi, as his contract expires in June.
Still, it’s worth noting that they’re set to sign Donyell Malen on a permanent basis after his outstanding six-month loan. Furthermore, the Dutch forward should have a prominent role in Gian Piero Gasperini’s setup next season.
