Predictions Eastbourne Open ATP 2026

Samuel Gill, Head Editor for TennisUpToDate picks Fritz to win the title.

Taylor Fritz for me to win the title. He has been exceptional as of late and might win another title this weekend. Also he has been great in Eastbourne over the years.

Also see Francisco Cerundolo, Joao Fonseca and Rafael Jodar doing well. Jack Draper it wouldn’t shock me if he had a return run but also it wouldn’t surprise me if he didn’t. He’s a bit of anomaly right now.

Taylor Fritz at 2025 ATP Finals

Lucas Michael, Editor for TennisUpToDate picks Taylor Fritz for the title.

Another tournament on British soil in the build up to Wimbledon, the tennis heading to the south coast in Eastbourne with a certain Taylor Fritz set to try and challenge for a fifth time.

His dominance in this competition has been noted due to his great form on grass, winning four of the previous six editions including the last two. The number one seed will be the big favourite for glory in Sussex but will have challengers along the way.

A former champion in the form of Francisco Cerundolo could also continue his fine form on grass. The trip from London to Sussex will be a jubilant one following reaching the final, and he will want more success against some strong opposition.

Joao Fonseca and Rafael Jodar are two players to firmly keep an eye on. After their quarter-final appearances in Paris, they will turn towards Wimbledon with the hope that they can prolong their incredible rise up the order.

As an outside shot, I believe Jack Draper can seriously challenge for the title. It would not surprise me if he featured in the latter stages of the tournament. His quality is undeniable with his match sharpness the only concern. I am going to be boring and say Fritz will win the title but keep an eye on Draper as I believe he is ready for a rise back up the rankings.

Cristhian Avila, Editor for TennisUpToDate sees Fritz also as champion.

The clear favourite is Taylor Fritz, given his multiple titles on grass courts and the efficiency he has already shown in just his first week of grass-court competition. Ugo Humbert has also found consistency on the surface, and with a reliable serve he can expect a deep run in the tournament.

The recent level of Francisco Cerundolo raises expectations that he could cause more than one surprise at Wimbledon, especially with an effective forehand and a serve that increasingly looks more consistent. Brazilian João Fonseca is another name whose serve and forehand combination could give him opportunities to go far.

He still lacks experience on grass courts to be considered a title contender, although he may be able to progress a couple of rounds without major issues and perhaps show rapid adaptation similar to what he did in the clay swing.
