Rhea Ripley Injured, LA Knight’s Push, The Rock/Triple H Tension

In our latest WWE Rumor Roundup, we have news on Rhea Ripley’s injury status, updates on LA Knight and Stephanie Vaquer, and new insights into Triple H and The Rock’s strained relationship.

We’re back with another WWE Rumor Roundup, and this batch touches on everything from injuries and backstage tensions to absent Superstars and surprising creative decisions.

With SummerSlam fast approaching, questions are being raised about the status of one of the company’s biggest champions, while fresh claims about the relationship between two of WWE’s most influential figures have reignited speculation about how they really feel about each other.

Elsewhere, there are updates on the future of a fan-favourite Superstar, concerns over why another popular name has seemingly hit a ceiling, and word of issues that could have an impact across the roster. Add in trademark filings, Hollywood commitments, and encouraging signs regarding the return of a rising star, and there’s plenty to unpack.

  • @WrestleVotes is reporting that WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley is injured. The severity of that isn’t clear, and the outlet doesn’t currently know whether she’ll miss SummerSlam. According to the Observer, WWE has already changed the Night of Champions poster, replacing The Eradicator with Tiffany Stratton, who has yet to be booked on the show.

  • Much has been said about Triple H and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s relationship, especially after the Final Boss started interfering in WWE’s creative plans in the build to WrestleMania XL. According to D-Lo Brown, “Triple H and Rocky don’t get along. They’re highly competitive — and that’s on camera. Now, Paul and Dwayne don’t like each other. Now, Paul and Dwayne don’t like each other. And they are definitely oil and water. So, there’s the onscreen angst, and then there’s the real backstage angst.”

  • Self Made Pro has learned that Drew McIntyre will not be back for SummerSlam this August. This comes after reports he’s joined Russell Crowe in the upcoming movie, The Last Druid.

  • Danhausen has proven himself a huge merchandise seller in WWE, and the company has just filed trademarks for “human monies” for multiple types of merchandising.

  • Why isn’t LA Knight receiving the main event push fans so desperately want? @WrestleVotes has heard rumblings that WWE is reluctant to push him beyond his current level due to concerns about his in-ring abilities. Bizarrely, he’s compared to Jey Uso, who, it seems, the company believes is more skilled in the squared circle.

  • Bryan Alvarez has heard that WWE is facing “significant visa issues” at the moment, though it’s not specified who that’s affecting.

  • There are also reports that  Stephanie Vaquer is “on her way back” and “getting close” to a return to WWE following an extended absence after WrestleMania.
