WWE Clash in Italy took place on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy. Everything came down to Tribal Combat at the end of the night.
Roman Reigns beat CM Punk at WrestleMania to become World Heavyweight Champion once again. That new prize came with an old problem, as Jacob Fatu stepped up.
Jacob Fatu and Roman Reigns already threw down at Backlash, but they were far from finished. Fatu made it clear that he wanted The OTC’s title, and a Tribal Combat match was booked for the championship.
This brutal title match closed out the Clash in Italy show. There have only been two prior Tribal Combat matches in WWE, and Roman Reigns won both of them so far. This match didn’t stay in the ring for long. The two fought through the crowd and then returned to ringside as fans chanted for tables. Roman brought out a table and eventually slid it into the ring. The match continued as Roman Reigns threw the ring steps from the ring onto Jacob’s head as he stood at ringside below.
This match kept going, and Jacob Fatu nailed a couple of moves in the spirit of Umaga. Then Roman hit a Superman Punch for a near fall. Fans chanted for the two to fight forever as Roman Reigns got a toolbox and smashed Jacob’s hand. “You can’t do sh*t with it now, can you!?” Roman barked at Fatu. Then Roman hit his hand again to take out the Tongan Death Grip.
They returned to the ring, and Roman set up a table. However, Jacob Fatu didn’t let Roman get his spear off before ambushing him in the corner. Roman Reigns rolled out of the ring and positioned himself so that Jacob started to charge for a spear through the barricade, but Reigns hit a Superman Punch instead. Then Reigns nailed his own spear through a different barricade, taking out two security guards in the process. They got back in the ring, and Reigns hit another spear for a near fall.
Roman Reigns pulled the top turnbuckle pads off 3 of the 4 corners. Then he hit a Superman Punch that didn’t put Jacob down, followed by a second one as Jacob hulked himself up. Jacob nailed his own spear after that for a two-count. Then Jacob got a near-fall that was followed by a low-blow from Reigns as got a shoulder up.
After that, Roman Reigns speared Jacob Fatu through the table he set up in the corner, which exploded into a million pieces. Then, Reigns hit another spear to win the match, retain the title, and keep his flawless streak going in Tribal Combat matches.
