Russell Wilson joining CBS after turbulent Giants season

Super Bowl-winning quarterback Russel Wilson will move to the desk for the upcoming season

According to Adam Schefter, Wilson will join CBS Sports as an analyst on its pregame show. The former quarterback will join James Brown, Nate Burleson, and Bill Cowher on the “NFL Today” after Matt Ryan left the show to become team president of the Falcons.

Wilson played for the Giants last season, starting the first three games of the season before being benched for rookie Jaxson Dart. Wilson was pushed down to third string behind Jameis Winston several weeks later.

Wilson visited with the Jets earlier in the offseason and said he was mulling an offer from the team.

“It was great,” Wilson told The Post at BTIG Charity Day. “They offered me, and I’m trying to figure out what the next best thing is for me to do. I still know I can play ball at a high level, but also I have an opportunity to do TV [analysis], so we’ll see what happens.”

Wilson, 37, would have served as Geno Smith’s backup if he decided to sign.

Wilson was drafted out of Wisconsin in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Seahawks. Wilson led Seattle to eight playoff appearances and the franchise’s first Super Bowl win in 2014.

Wilson also played for the Steelers and Broncos during his 13-year career. Wilson was named to the Pro Bowl 10 times and won the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.

Wilson has not officially announced the move to TV, nor has he confirmed that he has retired from playing.
