Tendulkar’s wish list
During his visit to Wimbledon 2024, Tendulkar revealed his wish list in an interview with the tournament organizers. Wearing a cream-colored blazer, Tendulkar gave candid responses during a fun-filled interaction. He mentioned he would have loved to have Federer as his batting partner due to Federer’s cricketing connections, noting that Federer’s mother is from South Africa and he follows cricket.
“One tennis player I would love to bat with is Roger Federer because has also got cricketing connections. You know, his mother is from South Africa and he follows cricket. When we sat together and chatted, we discussed a lot of cricket, not just tennis. So it has to be Roger,” Tendulkar was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times.
Remembering a old friend
Tendulkar also remembered his late friend Shane Warne, expressing his wish to play tennis with the former Australian leg-spinner again. He revealed that he played tennis alongside Warne in London. Tendulkar mentioned that Yuvraj Singh, another retired Indian cricketer, would have been his ideal doubles partner.
“There are two strong contenders. Unfortunately, we lost Shane Warne a couple of years ago, but I enjoyed playing tennis with Warney. In fact, we played together in London. The other guy is Yuvraj Singh, who is from the Indian cricket team. He has also retired,” Tendulkar concluded.
