Scotland Relay teams take the baton at the Belfast Classic

Monday 11th May 2026

Scotland relay athletes were in action in Northern Ireland over the weekend at the Belfast Classic.

Our 4x400m Mixed Relay team set what would be a Scottish Record at 3:23.97 albeit that so far this event hasn’t been run very often.

The quartet featured Greg Kelly, Jill Cherry, Tom Evans and Georgina Adam as they finished second to a full strength Wales team but headed hosts Northern Ireland.

Our Men’s 4x100m Relay team featured Kian Redman, Owen Murphy, Ben Thompson and Tony Wesley. With a run of 41.67 they finished third to Welsh and Irish Senior teams.

Wales included Jeremiah Azu, the 2025 World Indoors 60m Champion and Olympic relay medallist, in their team so our lads were delighted when he lined up for a photo and took time to chat to the Scottish athletes.

Thanks to the athletes involved for representing Scotland.

With thanks to Allan Scott
