The Seattle Seahawks unveiled their Super Bowl LX rings during a private team ceremony Thursday night, lowering the jewelry from the ceiling to players seated at banquet tables to reveal an elegant design that also celebrates the team’s 50th season.
The rings, created by bespoke jeweler Jason of Beverly Hills, feature diamonds and sapphires that tell the story of the Seahawks’ season, including a few elements unique to Seattle.
The rings are inspired by the architecture of Lumen Field, the Seahawks’ home venue, and the stadium’s famous arches hold many of the diamonds. The middle of the ring features Seahawks blue sapphires, the hawk head logo and two Lombardi Trophies in the background, representing the team’s two championships. One side of the ring features each player’s last name, number and the team’s motto: “M.O.B” — mission over bulls—. The other side includes the words “12 AS ONE,” the team’s longtime rallying cry that also pays homage to Seahawks fans, often viewed as the team’s 12th man when playing at home.
The bottom of the ring has 12 feathers, a further tribute to the team’s fan base, and the No. 50 was placed inside the ring, while the inner part of the ring has the inscription “17 WINS,” marking the team’s 17-3 record en route to the title.
“The Super Bowl LX championship ring will forever represent our historic 50th season and the dedication and determination of our entire franchise,” Chuck Arnold, team president, said in a statement. “We are deeply grateful to Jason of Beverly Hills for bringing our vision to life. The stories told in the ring’s design perfectly capture the significance of an unforgettable season and the unwavering support of our fans.”
The ring also includes two notable features. One is its ability to be fully removed from the base, easily turning it into a pendant that can be worn as a chain, something the Kansas City Chiefs did with their Super Bowl LVII rings. The other is a unique piece of technical wizardry: A “12 Flag” on the side of the ring can be pressed like a button, expanding the ring’s width to reveal the words “WORLD CHAMPIONS” between the Lumen Field arches. The Seahawks said the feature took months to develop.
