SEAN FLYNN ELECTED PRESIDENT OF BUCCANEERS
Seán Flynn has been elected as President of Buccaneers Rugby Football Club. A lifelong figure in the club, Seán first pulled on the jersey at U-10 level 27 years ago at Dr. Keane Park on the Ballymahon Road in Athlone.
He has remained deeply involved ever since including playing on the club’s Seconds and Thirds in the season just ended when he also found time to manage the Buccaneers U-20s team that retained their Leinster League title.
Outside of rugby he plies his trade in the family business, Flynn’s Funeral Directors in Athlone, and currently resides in The Strand with his partner Áine.
‘Roundy’ is an effervescent and popular figure around Buccs and his election marks a proud milestone for Seán, his family and the local community.
