Wimbledon tournament organizers announced their initial list of wild-card recipients for the 2026 Championships on Tuesday.
Serena Williams and Venus Williams have a wild card for the women’s doubles tournament. The Williams sisters have won 14 doubles Grand Slam titles together, including six at the All-England Club — most recently in 2016. They last teamed up at the 2022 U.S. Open, losing in the first round. Serena retired from tennis at that event.
The 44-year-old remained on the sidelines until last week at Queen’s Club, where he comeback to tennis began with doubles — partnering Victoria Mboko. They won their opening match before Mboko was forced to withdraw due to a knee injury. Serena is playing doubles this week in Berlin with Karolina Muchova.
Among the women’s singles wild-card recipients for Wimbledon is French Open runner-up Maja Chwalinska. With one WC still to be awarded, the six other current wild cards are British: Harriet Dart, Alicia Dudeney, Hannah Klugman, Mika Stojsavljevic, Katie Swan, and Mimi Xu.
