Shreyas Iyer received the Star Sports T20 Leadership Award for being the first captain to lead two teams to the IPL finals. The awards recognized exceptional contributions to cricket.

The Ceat Cricket Awards is back with another thrilling edition. The entire cricket community yet again for this amazing award night. The overseas players also joined this award night. In this glorious event, India’s one of the most talented middle-order batters Shreyas Iyer was recognized for his exceptional contribution to the game.Â
In this award function, Shreyas Iyer received the Star Sports T20 Leadership Award at the CEAT Awards for being the first captain to lead two different teams to the IPL final. That is another recognition of the batter for his exceptional contribution while captaining his team.Â
He started his captaincy career in the IPL in 2018 with Delhi Capitals after their former skipper stepped down from the captaincy. Under his captaincy, Delhi Capitals touched a new height. In 2020, they qualified for the IPL final for the first time. Even though they lost the final, Iyer’s captaincy shined.Â
Iyer Captaincy unfolded a new way while captaining Kolkata Knight Riders. This year’s performance of the franchise was exciting. They dominated the entire season and Iyer led from the front. After delivering outstanding performances, the team won their third IPL title under Shreyas’s leadership.Â
Iyer’s Return to the Indian Team in the Longest Format:
Earlier this year, Shreyas Iyer faced multiple setbacks. He was out of the last three Test matches against England due to a back issue. After that, he was snubbed from the Board’s central contract. After being out of the team for a long time, he made a comeback in the limited-over format through the ODI series against Sri Lanka.Â
But his return in the longest format is still awaiting. He will be seen in action in the prestigious Buchi Babu Tournament later this month. In September, Team India is all set to face Bangladesh in a Test series. Before that, most of the senior players will be seen in action in the Duleep Trophy. Shreyas Iyer will be leading the Team D side. Fans are awaiting for a fiery comeback from Iyer.Â
