Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) played their last home game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Friday, May 22. The standout batter from the SRH line-up was Heinrich Klaasen, who played a dynamic innings of 51 off 24 balls. His knock was laced with five sixes and two fours at an explosive strike rate of 212.5.
Klaasen came to the crease in the ninth over and cautiously built his momentum and rhythm while initially facing deliveries from Romario Shepherd. Until the twelfth over, he played steadily, scoring only five runs off nine balls. However, his innings changed dramatically in the thirteenth over when he took on Josh Hazlewood, smashing three sixes and a four in a single over to race from five to 28 runs. He then faced Suyash Sharma and produced a trademark Klaasen shot, making room for himself before going on to the back foot and launching the ball over extra cover for a huge six. He also struck Bhuvneshwar Kumar for a four and a six.
In the sixteenth over, Klaasen reached his sixth half-century of the season. The Proteas batter was eventually dismissed in the seventeenth over, bowled by Krunal Pandya.
