AEW Double or Nothing 2026 will feature the return of Stadium Stampede for the first time in five years during Memorial Day weekend.
The match was officially announced during the May 6 episode of AEW Dynamite and will see Chris Jericho team with four partners against Ricochet, The Gates of Agony, and two additional partners.
Stadium Stampede AEW Double or Nothing match set
The challenge came together following a verbal confrontation between Jericho and Ricochet on Dynamite.
Jericho demanded another opportunity to get his hands on Ricochet after recent attacks, but Ricochet agreed only under one condition — that the match take place under Stadium Stampede rules.
Ricochet also mocked Jericho during the segment by questioning whether he could even find enough partners for the match.
That confrontation quickly escalated into a brawl involving Jericho, Ricochet, and Gates of Agony members Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona.
The situation then shifted when all three members of The Hurt Syndicate — Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin — ran to the ring to back up Jericho.
Their involvement strongly suggested that Lashley, MVP, and Benjamin may ultimately become part of Jericho’s Stadium Stampede team.
Jericho has extensive history with the stipulation. His Inner Circle faction participated in the first Stadium Stampede match at Double or Nothing 2020 but lost to The Elite. The following year, Inner Circle defeated The Pinnacle in another Stadium Stampede encounter at Double or Nothing 2021.
The stipulation later returned at AEW All In 2023 from Wembley Stadium before disappearing from the schedule until now.
Current Lineup for AEW Double or Nothing on May 24 in Queens, New York:
