Stadiums on Show in 2026

Get ready for a summer of wall-to-wall football. The domestic seasons may draw to a close in May, but just one month later, the eyes of the sporting world turn to North America for the 2026 edition of the FIFA World Cup.

Always a titanic event and a beacon for punters seeking the top betting bonuses, the latest edition of the beautiful game’s grandest spectacle promises to be bigger and better than ever. And that is more than mere hyperbole; with 48 teams and 104 games, this really is the biggest World Cup of all time.

A tournament of such scale deserves a cast of stadiums to match, and the 2026 World Cup duly boasts a spectacular array of venues. Home to some of the biggest sporting sides in the US, Canada, and Mexico, six of these stadiums will also look more than a little familiar to long-time WWE viewers.

MetLife Stadium
Capacity: 82,500
Home Of: New York Giants and the New York Jets

The East Rutherford home of New York’s two NFL franchises will host eight matches at the FIFA World Cup, starting with the Group C clash between Brazil and Morocco on 13 June, and ending with the biggest game in football – the World Cup Final on 19 July.

On the WWE front, MetLife Stadium acted as host for WrestleMania 29 and WrestleMania 35. The former event saw John Cena avenge his defeat to The Rock in the main event, with a classic clash between The Undertaker and CM Punk lighting up the undercard.

WrestleMania 35, meanwhile, was one for the history books. The “triple threat” Becky Lynch vs Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte Flair main event marked the first time women had headlined the show, while Kofi Kingston defeated Daniel Bryan to become the first African-born champion in WWE history.

AT&T Stadium
Capacity: 94,000
Home Of: Dallas Cowboys

The impressive home of the Dallas Cowboys will stage nine matches over the course of the tournament – the most of any stadium. Highlights include the clash between defending champions Argentina and Austria on 22 June and the first of the semi-finals on 14 July.

AT&T Stadium hosted WrestleMania 32 – an event remembered for The Rock’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-it victory over Erick Rowan, and THAT 20-foot cage leap from Shane McMahon.

WWE returned to Dallas in 2022 for WrestleMania 38 – the event that saw Stone Cold Steve Austin come out of retirement, the American Nightmare make a shock return, and Vince McMahon defeat Pat McAfee at 76 years of age!

SoFi Stadium
Capacity: 70,000
Home Of: Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers

Ahead of hosting Super Bowl LXI in 2027, SoFi Stadium stages eight fixtures at the World Cup, including two USA Group games and the second quarter-final on 10 July.

WrestleMania’s sole visit to the west coast venue came in 2023 for WrestleMania 39. The event, themed “WrestleMania Goes Hollywood”, featured a stunning upset in the main event as Roman Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes, and an iconic People’s Elbow from …Snoop Dogg.

Hard Rock Stadium
Capacity: 65,000
Home Of: Miami Dolphins

Sunny Miami is the destination for seven World Cup fixtures, including the Scotland vs Brazil Group C clash and the bronze medal match on 18 July.

Under its former name of Sun Life Stadium, the home of the Miami Dolphins was overtaken by the WWE for WrestleMania 28. Returning to his hometown, The Rock defeated John Cena in the “Once in a Lifetime” match, which was, of course, repeated at WrestleMania 29. Other highlights included CM Punk defeating Chris Jericho to retain his title and The Undertaker conquering Triple H inside Hell in a Cell, with Shawn Michaels appearing as referee.

Levi’s Stadium
Capacity: 71,000
Home Of: San Francisco 49ers

With five Group games and one Round of 32 encounter, Levi’s Stadium joins the SoFi Stadium to bring the total of World Cup games in California to 14.

The stadium steps into the global spotlight eleven years after it staged a spectacular WrestleMania 31. The scene of Seth Rollins “Heist of the Century”, the 2015 event also witnessed one of Randy Orton’s greatest ever RKOs.

Lincoln Financial Field
Capacity: 69,000
Home Of: Philadelphia Eagles

The home of the Eagles hosts former World Cup champions Brazil and France during the Group phase, before staging the last of its six games in the Round of 16.

In 2024, the City of Brotherly Love set the scene for the eventful WrestleMania 40. On a night featuring a record-breaking seven title changes; Cody Rhodes “finished the story” by defeating Roman Reigns to win the Undisputed Universal title; John Cena and The Undertaker made surprise appearances; and Sami Zayn ended Gunther’s Intercontinental Championship reign.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will bring football’s biggest stage to some of the same stadiums that helped create unforgettable WrestleMania moments. From MetLife Stadium hosting the World Cup Final to AT&T Stadium getting the most matches of the tournament, these venues already know how to handle massive crowds, global attention, and history-making nights. For WWE fans watching the World Cup, it may be impossible not to remember the legendary matches, shocking returns, and iconic moments that happened in those same buildings.
