The F1 president rejected the negativity coming from a critical section of fans, while still admitting that their feedback is being listened to.
A real interview
The interview conducted by colleagues at The Race with Stefano Domenicali — President and CEO of Formula 1 — was one in which credit must be given both to the journalists for asking direct questions and to the Italian manager for engaging in an open and frank exchange.
It was not a common exercise these days: asking uncomfortable questions — and allowing them to be asked — while providing sincere answers in return.
It was also an interview that triggered many reactions, as expected. ScuderiaFans.com also analysed it closely to better understand both the direction of Formula 1 and the profile of the modern fan the sport is currently addressing.
Are onboard cameras being hidden? Stefano Domenicali denies it
One part of the exchange focused on the dissatisfaction of long-time fans and the so-called “hidden onboard conspiracy theories” (as described by The Race journalists), which emerged during the early races of the 2026 season.
Stefano Domenicali responded:
“Thank you for the question. Honestly, people don’t have much to do. Thinking that we are protecting or hiding something is ridiculous. This is our package, this is what we want to show to people.
I want to move away from this negativity, because I don’t perceive it. That said, we listen to everyone — you know me. I am not shouting and I am not closing the door by ignoring comments.
Listening to even those people who bring up these kinds of conspiracy theories is always very important, because everyone can teach us something. But of course, there must be someone who summarises everything and has an overall vision to manage the situation,” the F1 president commented.
