Swarthmore College invites applications for the position of full-time Assistant Women’s Tennis Coach. The Assistant Coach will support all aspects of the women’s tennis program and contribute to the College’s mission of combining academic rigor, athletic excellence, and
personal development.
The successful candidate will assist the head coach in creating an environment that fosters teamwork, competitive success,, sportsmanship, and holistic growth of student-athletes. This position offers an opportunity to work with highly motivated students at a nationally recognized

Responsibilities
● Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting practices, training sessions, and match preparation.
● Provide technical, tactical, and mental performance instruction to student-athletes.
● Assist with recruiting prospective student-athletes who are capable of succeeding in Swarthmore’s rigorous academic and athletic environment.
● Support team travel, match operations, scheduling, and administrative responsibilities.
● Foster a positive team culture that promotes accountability, leadership, and personal growth.
● Monitor student-athlete well-being and support their academic success.
● Ensure compliance with NCAA, Centennial Conference, and College policies and procedures.
● Represent the Women’s Tennis program and Athletics Department at campus and community events.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
● Collegiate tennis playing and/or coaching experience.
● Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
● Demonstrated commitment to mentoring and developing student-athletes.
● Understanding of and commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy.
● Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
● Previous collegiate coaching or recruiting experience with female athletes.
● Experience working within a highly selective academic institution.
● Knowledge of player development, video analysis, and contemporary training methods.
