“I knew Chinese was going to..” Manika on her recent win
Manika is enjoying her recent success and became very emotional after defeating top Chinese player Wang Manyu at Saudi SMAASH last month. Despite trailing 8-10 at a crucial moment, she used a surprise paddle switch she had practiced extensively to surprise her opponent.
“I knew the Chinese was going to turn, and just didn’t expect me to twiddle. Honestly, it was very impressive to watch, and I was really really good. I saw the clips 5-6 times and the whole match on my flight back,” she said.
