Ampthill travel to The Richmond Athletic Ground on Saturday afternoon to face London Scottish in Round 23 of Elior Champ Rugby looking to continue their momentum in block four.
The Mob took advantage of the mid-season break to recharge and regroup and are now looking up the table following wins against Hartpury away plus Richmond and Doncaster at home.
Head Coach Dave Ward makes only two changes to the match day twenty-three that put 60 points on Knights last weekend, and they are both on the bench – Scottish U20 tighthead Callum Norrie comes in for James Johnston whilst Tongan talisman Tino Mapapalangi returns to cover the back row – Barney Merrett selected again at number eight after a strong showing including two tries last Saturday.
The starting XV is unchanged and Ward commented “it’s the first time it’s happened this season and yes its unusual. It’s a credit to the players for their performance last weekend but maybe not ideal. It’ll help Scottish preparations more than us. I obviously know Joe well and his teams are always well drilled, they’ll be fired up for this weekend after a tight game here at Dillingham Park and we need to go there with the right mentality to continue a good run of results”
