Junior pickleball is officially moving beyond the promise stage. Following a landmark summer where Mrgence introduced nearly 200 children to the sport, the province celebrated a historic milestone on August 23, 2025, with the very first youth-centric tournament of its kind in Quebec.
Nurturing the Next Generation
The Mrgence Next Gen Cup provided young athletes with an exciting opportunity to experience the intensity of real competition in an environment designed just for them. Divided into three age-adapted categories, the tournament allowed players to build confidence, manage pressure, and foster a strong sense of sportsmanship.
The Age Divisions Included:
- 7 to 9 years old
- 10 to 12 years old
- 13 to 16 years old
A Concrete Step for the Sport
This initiative does more than just give kids a place to play; it structures the next generation to make pickleball more family-oriented, dynamic, and sustainable.
The momentum won’t stop here. Building on this success, Mrgence has announced the official integration of junior tournaments into the Quebec Pickleball Circuit starting in 2026, offering unprecedented structure and visibility to young competitive players.
