The Oklahoma City Thunder have been unstoppable to begin the season.
The defending NBA Champions have been flexing their muscles, getting out to an astonishing 18-1 start.
The Oklahoma City Thunder’s lone blemish was against the Portland Trail Blazers, a game where they took their foot off the gas.
But since that minor hiccup, the Thunder have hit another gear, winning their last 10 games, which is the longest win streak in the league.
Jalen Williams is set to return for the Oklahoma City Thunder
The most remarkable part about the Thunder’s 18-1 start is that it has come without their All-NBA talent Jalen Williams, who has been recovering from wrist surgery.
OKC could go 74 wins or better!
However, Williams is set to return and make his season debut against the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.
The Thunder have had the best points per game differential through 19 games in NBA history at +16.5 and now they will have Williams back alongside reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
In the 2024-25 season, Williams averaged 21.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game.
The Oklahoma City Thunder could potentially have three lottery picks in the 2026 NBA Draft
The Thunder could end up breaking the 73-9 Golden State Warriors’ record, while repeating as NBA Champions and they could still wind up with three lottery picks in the upcoming 2026 NBA Draft.
The Thunder own the Los Angeles Clippers’ 2026 first-round pick (unprotected), which is currently projected to go No. 8.
They also own the Utah Jazz’s first-round pick (top-8 protected), which is currently projected to go No. 9 and the Philadelphia 76ers’ first-round pick (top-4 protected), which is currently projected to go No. 13.
The Thunder are on the cusp of being a dynasty, and they still have many valuable picks coming up in their pipeline. It’s just a testament to the tremendous job Sam Presti and the front office has done over the years.
