The Rock is in Las Vegas during WrestleMania week — but not for WWE, and that detail is already turning heads.
With WWE taking over Las Vegas for WrestleMania 42 on April 18 and April 19, many fans expected The Rock to be tied to the festivities in some way. However, it turns out his trip to the city had nothing to do with WrestleMania at all.
Instead, The Rock appeared in Las Vegas for CinemaCon, where he served as a presenter during Disney’s panel to promote the upcoming live-action Moana film. During his appearance, he spoke about the importance of strong female leads and took a moment to acknowledge his daughters while addressing the crowd.
“Being a proud girl dad, three times. I have a daughter in her 20s, I have ten, I have eight…I have seven. My youngest is going to turn eight tomorrow. Happy birthday Tia, I know you’re going to see this. I love you. I’m coming home tonight.”
That last line — saying he was heading home — could be especially telling, considering WrestleMania weekend is just a little over a day away and WWE is already operating in the same city.
Tia is set to turn eight years old on April 17, which adds more context to his statement about returning home quickly after the event. While The Rock has been heavily involved in major WrestleMania storylines in the past — including his role in the build toward WrestleMania 41 — he ultimately did not appear at the show itself.
His presence in Las Vegas this week, paired with the fact that he’s there for a Hollywood-related commitment rather than WWE promotion, may cool speculation about a surprise WrestleMania 42 appearance — at least for now.
At the same time, WrestleMania weekend is always known for unexpected moments, and The Rock being in the same city — even briefly — is enough to keep speculation alive among fans.
Do you think The Rock being in Las Vegas this week is just coincidence, or could he still show up at WrestleMania 42 despite saying he’s heading home?
