Bike Shop Assistants FT or PT

We are looking for energetic, responsible, and organised individuals to join our team as Bike Shop Assistants.  This is a full time role but ideally we would like two part time assistants to help support the needs of the shop at different times. We are proud to have an amazing shop which stocks the best brands in the business, your role is to keep it looking pristine and well stocked.  You will be expected to actively engage with our customers, to understand their needs, share your product knowledge, assist in customer purchases and support our Manager in maximising shop revenue.

You will have a passion for or previous experience with a great understanding of what a quality visitor experience is and will consistently deliver our customer service vision. Reliability and adaptability are vital for this role, as are excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills. You will support and encourage strong team working across all departments.

Duties and responsibilities for this role include daily retail services, such as, stocking shelves, till reconciliation, processing orders, shop presentation. Be an approachable source of information, be it bikes or related goods, including merits of different products. Assist in all aspects of running the online shop. Delivering exceptional service to all our visitors, face to face and through other methods of communication. Daily reporting of stock levels and required orders. Maintain an exceptional level of knowledge in trends and new technologies in the industry to assist customers. Assisting the Manager in monitoring trends in sales and popular items. Assist on site presentation to include the shop, both internal and external, workshop and back of house. Daily responsibility for ensuring the Bike Shop dept ‘zone’ is presentable.

To further build Altura’s position in the UK cycling market we are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Brand Promoter to join our Own Brand team. Reporting to the Head of Own Brand, working predominately in the field, the role centres around strengthening brand relationships with key dealers, supporting in-store activity, staff training and ensuring best in class product presentation.  The Brand Promoter will also be involved in consumer and trade events, showcasing current and forthcoming products in the Altura collection. Regular visits to HQ in Darlington will be required to engage with the Own Brand development team, learning about the product and inputting to future ranges.

Sales FT & PT

We are looking to add to our existing enthusiastic and approachable team.  We are seeking to fill both full and part time roles. The full time vacancy is 37.5 hours per week, the part time is 22.5 hours per week both vacancies include weekend working. We are looking for colleagues who can provide great customer service, helping customers select the right products to get the most from their cycling, our ideal candidate will have a sales and service background with cycling experience.

The ideal candidate will excel in customer service, attention to details and have excellent communication skills. If we find the ideal team member we will bring the closing date forward. We offer a competitive salary dependant on experience, 32 days holiday and a generous staff discount. Duties to include telephone and email enquiries, merchandising along with general shop routines.

Full time Mechanic

Founded in 1981 by brothers Tim and Chris Noy, who were teachers, Leisure Lakes started as a small windsurfing business at a family waterpark between Preston & Southport. As customers began cycling when the wind was down, the brothers started selling bikes. From their first hand-built store at Leisure Lakes, they have expanded to 20 UK locations and a large online store, with plans for further expansion. We are seeking proactive, hard-working, computer-literate individuals with a passion for bikes to join our team. We have multiple job opportunities. Candidates must have good technical and mechanical knowledge, with experience in bike maintenance and servicing in a busy environment. The ideal experienced mechanic will be conscientious, dedicated, and appreciate quality and attention to detail. You must have the ability to problem-solve and work independently. General IT competency is required for using our team’s computer program and database to manage the diary/workload.

Bike Mechanic

An exciting, rare opportunity has arisen for a skilled mechanic to join our amazing team, working in a dual capacity, not only on our high-quality Trek hire fleet but also working with our specialist workshop team, on customer bikes. This work will range from simple repairs to highly specialised work. You will gain extensive experience and knowledge working with both, our fleet and our highly renowned team.

The successful candidate will be a fun, engaging individual who is organised, experienced and great with people. The candidate must be qualified to a minimum Cytech Level 2, with previous experience role within a workshop environment. An eye for detail, an ability to analyse, report on and react to any issues, as well as an ability to bring structure and efficiency to the team are all desirable qualities in the ideal candidate.
