TNA Wrestling is set to begin its build toward TNA Lockdown 2026 with a set of upcoming television tapings this week.
TNA iMPACT tapings to launch Knockouts tournament and Lockdown build
The promotion will hold back-to-back episodes of TNA iMPACT! on July 1 and July 2 at the The Broadview Center in Albany. These tapings are expected to serve as the starting point for multiple key storylines following TNA Slammiversary 2026.
One of the major focuses will be the launch of the tournament to crown the first-ever TNA Knockouts Television Champion. The new title was introduced at Slammiversary, and the upcoming episodes of iMPACT will begin the process of establishing its inaugural titleholder.
The tapings will also feature the first appearance of Nic Nemeth as the reigning TNA World Champion. Nemeth captured the title at Slammiversary, marking a significant shift at the top of the promotion.
Backstage, there was reportedly a strong sense of satisfaction with how Slammiversary pay-per-view came together. Several talents described the show as “the company needed,” reflecting a unified effort within the locker room to deliver a standout event and reinforce the promotion’s current momentum.
Another notable presence backstage at Slammiversary was Brian James. The WWE Hall of Famer and longtime producer is said to be in ongoing discussions regarding a potential role with TNA, although details are still being worked out.
Despite recent changes to the creative team ahead of Slammiversary, there were reportedly no major alterations to the plans already in place for the event, indicating a level of consistency behind the scenes during a pivotal show for the company.
