Sources have reportedly indicated that Tommy Dreamer’s recent comments about TNA culture and talent pushes are inaccurate.
Following his exit from his creative role at TNA Wrestling, Tommy Dreamer said on Busted Open that he tried to build a culture in the promotion, which he claims will change in the coming days. He also noted that he didn’t have the final say on creative decisions and that he didn’t have full control.
Now, False Finish is reporting that sources within TNA have indicated that Tommy Dreamer’s comments are inaccurate.
“Sources inside TNA indicate to False Finish that Tommy Dreamer’s statements are not accurate. Dreamer did not want to build contenders and in fact had control of who got pushed. The belief is that the culture will change for the better. The feeling is that the booking and creative wasn’t good and change was needed, especially with the bigger platform of AMC this year,” the report read.
In the same episode, Tommy Dreamer also noted that if he had a say or if he was still in control, M by Elegance would be the top TNA Knockout by 2027. His comments sparked criticism from fans over some of his decisions, with many arguing he should have done them sooner. One point of contention was that the Elegance Brand won the Knockouts World Tag Team Championships in January, but hasn’t defended them since February.
Dreamer was also criticized for defending Mike Santana not winning the TNA World Championship at Slammiversary 2025, claiming that if he won it there, they would not have had an opponent for him at Bound For Glory three months later.
