TNA Wrestling has a long history of impactful women doing their thing. Those women will soon have a new title to fight for, and the big announcement went down at Slammiversary.
The Countdown to Slammiversary pre-show featured a Triple Threat Match between Mara Sadé, Indi Hartwell, and Elayna Black. The three Knockouts battled to build momentum before the pay-per-view, giving fans an action-packed match to kick off the night.
After the match, TNA Hall of Famer Traci Brooks made her way to the ring with a major announcement. Brooks reflected on the history of the Knockouts Division and praised the women who helped turn it into one of the cornerstones of TNA over the past two decades.
Traci Brooks then revealed that TNA would introduce the first-ever TNA Knockouts Television Championship. Brooks announced that a 16-woman tournament would begin on the following week’s episode of TNA Impact, with the winner becoming the inaugural champion.
The TNA Hall of Famer also confirmed that the new title would be defended exclusively on TNA Impact, which will make it a true television title. The announcement was met with a big reaction from the Boston crowd.
