Tom Brady took a courtside seat to watch his Las Vegas Aces team kick off the WNBA season but thanks to his outfit, he became more of a talking point than he might have liked.
The NFL great, a part-owner of the WNBA champions, took his seat at the Michelob ULTRA Arena for the team’s opening game of the 2026 season against the Phoenix Mercury, which they ended up losing 99-66.
Brady, 48, came dressed for the occasion, wearing a bold and bright red leather jacket to the game and a white t-shirt underneath and black pants.
It led fans to joke on social media that perhaps Brady was a little bit too influenced by the latest Michael Jackson movie that has recently hit theaters.
‘Tom Brady went to see Michael and decided to wear his red jacket,’ one fan posted on X with a crying-with-laughter emoji.
Another wrote: ‘Tom’s stylist needs to be fired.’

A fan who was at the game posted a clip from the stands which read: ‘Not Tom Brady in the Thriller jacket!’
Brady’s appearance on Saturday saw him involved in the team’s ring ceremony before the game began after the Aces won the WNBA championship in 2025.
He was also seen in discussion with Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo, who is dating A’ja Wilson – the star player for the Aces.
His presence on Saturday is also a reflection upon the growing sporting footprint he has been carving out in Las Vegas after entering retirement.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion also owns a minority stake in NFL team Las Vegas Raiders and has played a key role in their latest much-needed offseason overhaul.
They replaced head coach Pete Carroll with Klint Kubiak, who last season was the offensive coordinator for the Super Bowl winning Seattle Seahawks.
They will also have a new quarterback in 2026 – an area of supreme Brady expertise – after trading last year’s starter Geno Smith to the New York Jets.
The Raiders signed veteran Kirk Cousins and drafted Fernando Mendoza with their first pick of the NFL Draft last month.

As it stands, the Raiders are expected to enter the upcoming season with Cousins as their starter while they give Mendoza time to adjust to his new surroundings.
They also splashed out over $280m in free agency, recruiting star center Tyler Linderbaum along with the likes of Jalen Nailor and Nakobe Dean. The franchise have also held on to Maxx Crosby after his trade to the Baltimore Ravens collapsed.
The Raiders schedule for the 2026 season will drop on Thursday, while the next Aces game is on Sunday against Los Angeles Sparks.
