Tony Fitzgibbon RIP
We have sadly learned of the death of our former player, senior captain and Club President, Tony Fitzgibbon.
Our deepest sympathies to his family, his wife Olwen, his children, Simon (Club Chairman 2014) Andrew, Heidi and Julie.

#31 Club President 1980-81
The PBC schoolboy played for Munster Schools for 2 seasons. He was on the 1965 Senior Schools Cup winning team, alongside future Dolphin team mates Noel Elliott, Des Prendergast & Eoin Moriarty.
He made his Dolphin senior debut in September 1966, he was also the Junior Vice captain that season.
In 1967 he made his first adult representative appearance, playing for Cork v Dublin.
He was Senior Captain for the 1969/70 season, during which he made his Munster debut v Ulster. He was also capped by Munster at Junior level.
While still playing his was the Club’s Honorary Secretary for 1970/71 & 1971/72 and on the clubs general committee in 1970-71.
In 1972/73 he was on the winning sides in the Cork Charity Cup and the Munster Senior League.
The Rugby Chairman in 1979-80, Tony was Club President in 1980/81 and Chairman of the Management Committee the following season.
He was the Tour Manager for the clubs first transatlantic tour to North America in 1982.
He moved to West Cork in 1984, taking over Mizen Seafoods Ltd near Goleen.
