Tennessee Titans President of Football Operations Chad Brinker has announced his resignation just days after the completion of the NFL Draft.

Brinker, who had been with the Titans since 2023, is leaving the role after previously serving as the assistant general manager of the team.

‘It has been an honor to serve as President of Football Operations of the Tennessee Titans,’ Brinker’s statement began.

‘Over the years, I’ve understood and embraced my role as the leader of the football strategy, but as I’ve spent less time in personnel, I have a renewed conviction that it is time to return to what I love and move towards my next chapter.’

Brinker went on to thank team owner Amy Adams Strunk for her ‘understanding in my decision and for allowing me to pursue other opportunities.’

‘I’m proud of the work we’ve done over the past three years – under challenging circumstances – to begin the process of getting the Titans football organization back on track, not the least of which was last year’s general manager search.

‘I believe the Titans have exceptional people and long-term stability at the general manager position and throughout the scouting department. While there is work to be done, I believe we’ve laid the foundation to restore the titans to its rightful place as a sustainable, winning program.’

His statement concluded: ‘My family and I will always be grateful for Amy’s belief and trust in me, and for our time in Tennessee.’

Strunk’s statement read, ‘When we first met Chad, it was clear he was an exceptional talent with deep knowledge of the game and the ability to connect big-picture strategy to execution.

‘While it is difficult to lose him, I understand his decision and will do whatever I can to support him. I wish he, Rachelle, and their family the absolute best as they prepare for what’s next and thank them for their dedication and loyalty to the Tennessee Titans.’

Brinker arrived with the Titans after a 13-year career with the Green Bay Packers where he rose from a scouting intern to becoming the personnel/football administration executive.

He was hired as the assistant general manager under Ran Carthon in Tennessee in 2023, the final season of Mike Vrabel’s coaching tenure with the Titans.

After the 2023 season, Vrabel was fired after going 6-11 that year and going 54-45 in his career with the Titans.

This came two years after Vrabel was photographed kissing NFL insider Dianna Russini in a bar – with the photos being published on April 22 of this year.

Carthon was fired in 2024 and Brinker was promoted to President of Football Operations. In the course of his job, he served as the team’s de facto general manager while looking for a new executive.

Brinker then hired Mike Borgonzi to the role in 2025, with Borgonzi reporting to him. This season, the Titans went 3-14 and missed the playoffs.
