Carl Froch has urged Anthony Joshua to go straight into a long-awaited bout with Tyson Fury.
Fury called on Joshua to get in the ring after his victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov last Saturday, however his rival refused the offer.
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn has maintained the two-time heavyweight world champion will have a warm-up fight before facing Fury.
The Matchroom Chairman revealed last week they have received a two-fight deal from Saudi Arabian boxing chief, Turki Alalshikh, culminating with a mega battle against ‘The Gypsy King’ in November.
However, Froch believes the 36-year-old should press forward with a fight against his long-time rival rather than risk the bout falling through, as it has done on a number of previous occasions.
“It’s past it’s sell by date, but it’s still a big fight,” the 48-year-old said on his YouTube channel Froch On Fighting.
“These two should just f***ing get on with it, get in there and get this fight made.
“All this pre-fight warm-up bulls*** is totally unnecessary.
“It’s going to kill it.

“If AJ has a warm-up fight, even if he’s fighting someone who’s a knock over, he might get injured and he’ll need two or three months out.
“Then he’ll need a three-month training camp, this fight gets further and further away from happening.
“This fight needs to happen now.
“If it’s going to happen, it’s now or never for me.”

Joshua has not fought since a sixth round knockout of Jake Paul in Miami in December.
10 days after stopping the YouTuber-turned-boxer, ‘AJ’ suffered minor injuries in a fatal car crash which killed two of his close friends.
The Watford man has returned to training camp in Spain alongside former foe, Oleksandr Usyk as he gears up for a likely July return.
