The Australia batter proved to be a nightmare for India once again and scored a brilliant century during the second day of the Gabba Test
Australia batter Travis Head once again haunted the Indian bowlers and went on to complete a stunning century at The Gabba. Him along with Steve Smith, who also scored a century, took Australia into a strong position during the second day of the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar series.
Though Smith departed after scoring 101, Head went on to score 152 runs before getting dismissed to pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah. Though the Indian seamer did eventually get the wicket of the explosive Australia batter, the damage had already been done.
The century saw Head claim a unique record. He became the only active batter in the world to score a king pair and a century at a venue in a calendar year. Earlier this year, Head was dismissed for golden ducks in both the innings against the West Indies at The Gabba.
Overall, he is the sixth player to score a pair and a hundred at a venue in a calendar year, with Wazir Mohammad, Alwin Kallicharan, Marvan Attapattu, Ramnaresh Sarwan, and Mohammad Ashraful also present on the list.
Meanwhile, Head continued his love affair against India in The Gabba Test as he completed his second consecutive century of the century in the Border-Gavaskar series and carried Australia to a very strong position in the Test. Earlier, Head had scored a fabulous ton in the Adelaide Test as well which massively helped the hosts in defeating the Men in Blue by 10 wickets.
