Triple H Says Trick Williams Could Be WWE’s Next Great Trash Talker

Triple H believes WWE may already have its next great trash talker, and he pointed right at Trick Williams when Stephen A. Smith brought up the subject.

While speaking to Stephen A. Smith on his YouTube channel, Triple H was asked about WWE finding that next major personality who can talk people into the building. Stephen A. brought up names like Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather while explaining that he is looking for the next person who can really stand above the pack on the microphone.

Stephen A. made it clear that the athletic talent is already there, but he wants to know who can bring that elite level of smack talk.

“If there’s one thing that I and I tell this to all all the wrestlers that I see. I tell them all. I said, ‘Listen, I all of them that they’re so good, but I also am looking for that one dude that stands above the crowd when it comes to the smack talk.’”

He then asked Triple H whether WWE is close to having that kind of performer again. Triple H did not hesitate before bringing up Trick Williams. Triple H even told Stephen A. that if he had entered the wrestling business, he could have seen him playing a Trick Williams-style character.

“I think that’s Look, that to me that’s where Trick comes in.”

“It’s a funny thing. I was just talking to somebody about this earlier. I was envisioned if you were to come into our business as one of the most epic trash talkers out there. You would have come into our business. I was envisioned you as a Trick sort of character.”

Triple H said Trick has the image, the stance and the presence that can connect with people, while also saying that more experience will help WWE’s younger stars find that comfort level on the mic.

“I think there’s a comfort level that comes with experience that goes into the trash talking that I think you’re going to see some of these talent evolve into.”

Then Triple H circled back to Trick Williams again and made it clear he believes Trick has a real shot at becoming that guy. Triple H also gave Oba Femi credit as a strong talker, but said he brings a different kind of energy than Trick Williams. Triple H closed the larger point by saying WWE is always looking for the next-level performer because the business is not just about what happens between the ropes.

“I think Trick has a really good shot at that.”

“I think Obafemi is an incredible on the mic in a different format than than what a a Trick brings to the table, but I do think you’re going to see some of that coming now as these guys and girls get more experience and have that period of time.”

“We’re always looking for that that next level performer because in our business it’s not just about the athleticism, it’s not just about you know, what you do in the ring. That charisma is king.”

Trick Williams already has the crowd, the entrance and the confidence. Now Triple H is making it clear that WWE sees him as someone who could become one of the company’s next big voices.
