With all the main roster call-ups and the releases that just happened recently, this week’s episode of WWE NXT started with NXT General Manager Robert Stone sitting at a conference table with Shawn Michaels and Matt Bloom.
The Heartbreak Kid’s advice was to roll with it like they’ve done before, and while Stone could set up some index cards and a whiteboard to sort out who to put in what spot, HBK’s suggestion was to throw a stick of dynamite into the locker room (metaphorically) and blow it all up and see who steps up.
This quickly became a theme for the night, as immediately after Myles Borne retained the NXT North American Championship over Saquon Shugars, Tristan Angels (who has made just a few appearances for AAA and EVOLVE) came out through the crowd to talk about how he’s now part of the brand.
As Borne was distracted looking at Angels, he was attacked from behind by Kam Hendrix, formerly known as Anthony Luke from WWE LFG before being renamed for EVOLVE, who has also put his name in the hat as someone to challenge Borne going forward.
