Tsitsipas Downward Spiral – Tennis-Prose.com

Stefanos Tsitsipas has a lot of coaches telling him what to do.

The Greek 28 year old will drop to world no. 78 (at best) when the new rankings come out on Monday. This will be his lowest ranking since 2018.

Boris Becker is the latest volunteer coach for Tsitsipas, offering some advice on X: “Wondering when does he realize, he might have to change a few things in his professional life. He is still young enough to turn it around, if he really wants to.”

Last week it was Ivanisevic counseling Stefanos: “I knew on the second day working with him this wasn’t going anywhere. I never insulted him. I spoke the truth and I was proven correct. I advised him to take a break from tennis because he has mental issues, not just physical.” Next week who will babble next?

Maybe Tsitsipas is burned out on tennis, which has been his entire life, except for his side job as a part time philosopher. He’s earned over $30,000,000 and reached a Grand Slam final, won Masters 1000s, and was one match away from world no.1, all in all it’s been a wonderful ride, even if his time as an elite player has concluded.

So what if Tsitsipas will be just a journeyman for the second half or remainder of his career. So what if there are many more heartbreaking losses to Carlos, Medvedev, Felix, Djokovic, etc.

Tsitsipas has created a fabulous career and is the greatest player in the history of Greece. There were no guarantees coming out of juniors that he was going to make it in the ATP but not only did he make it, he made it BIG.

Tennis fans, media and even former Grand Slam champions love to talk about Stefanos Tsitsipas.

People are gonna talk so you might as well give em something to talk about.
