Tyler Breeze is keeping things careful when it comes to Xavier Woods’ WWE exit, but he did give a small update on where things stand.
While speaking to Love Wrestling, Breeze was asked about Woods and Kofi Kingston leaving WWE after turning down restructured TKO-era deals. Since Breeze has worked closely with Woods through UpUpDownDown and is one of his close friends, he was also asked what the move means for the channel.
Breeze said Woods is simply taking time for himself right now after years of nonstop work. He also made it clear that the business side of the situation is not his story to tell.
“Yeah, I mean at the moment, he’s just chilling. You know what I mean? He’s been on the grind for a long time, and business stuff happens. It’s not really my place to talk on any of it.”
When it came to Woods’ next move and the future of UpUpDownDown, Breeze didn’t offer any firm update. Instead, he said he is watching for what happens next just like everyone else.
“So, you saw as much as I saw—where he’s at now, that’s kind of where we’re at. I’ll be waiting to see the headlines, just like everybody else.”
Breeze’s comments come after reports stated that Kingston and Woods were asked to restructure their WWE deals just one year into five-year contracts they signed in 2025. Dave Meltzer noted that WWE viewed them as names without major long-term creative plans and had discussed them winding down their in-ring careers while shifting into promotional roles.
Bryan Alvarez also stated that their contracts were not naturally expiring, but that WWE approached them about moving into new TKO-style deals. After they didn’t like the terms, they were granted their release.
With AEW speculation already growing around The New Day and the long-teased possibility of a match against The Young Bucks, Woods’ next move remains a major question. For now, though, Breeze’s update suggests Woods is taking a breather before whatever comes next.
