On July 25, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Anthony Joshua will face Kristian Prenga. Should AJ win as expected, Turki Alalsahikh has confirmed we can expect to see Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua on a date and at a venue to be confirmed.
Fury recently returned to action, comfortably outpointing Arslanbek Makhmudov. It feels like Fury vs Joshua is closer than ever, and Eddie Hearn recently spoke to Carl Froch, breaking down Joshua’s chances.
Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua planned for Q4 in 2026
It has been reported that we can expect to see Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury in Q4 of 2026.
In the original press release announcing his comeback fight against Prenga, AJ said: “It’s no secret I’ve taken some time to consolidate and rebuild to be ready for stepping back into the ring, and today is the next step on that journey. I’m delighted to have agreed a multi-fight deal starting with July 25th in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I’m looking forward to competing and picking up where I left off. As I said. The landlord will collect his rent. That is certain.”
After Fury defeated Makhmudov, Joshua reminded Fury from ringside that he was the landlord, so that comment feels like an indirect message to The Gypsy King.
Eddie Hearn breaks down Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua
Discussing Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua, Hearn made it clear he’s feeling confident that AJ can get the win:
“I like our chances. I know that both guys have a lot to prove. When I watched Fury the other week, I just feel like if AJ can assert himself in the fight, and he can be aggressive in the fight, and he can let his hands go in the fight, I think he’s got a very good chance of winning the fight. Fury always ups his game when he’s in with a good fighter, and I think he’ll be better than he was in the Makhmudov fight.
“But I like AJ’s chances, there’s nothing else to do really, I mean, AJ would love another shot at the heavyweight world title, but the reality is, the Tyson Fury fight’s the one that needs to be ticked off the box.”
