ABU DHABI, UAE — The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation announced that the UAE Jiu-Jitsu National Team has successfully completed the official weigh-in ahead of the jiu-jitsu competitions at the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya.
The multi-sport event runs from April 22 to April 30, with top teams from across Asia competing for continental honors.
The weigh-in process marks an important milestone before the start of competition and offers an early sign of the athletes’ readiness and discipline following an intensive training camp.
UAE Team Shows Strong Preparation
Mubarak Saleh Al Menhali, Technical Director at the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, said the weigh-in process was completed smoothly and according to plan.
“Completion of weigh-ins gives a positive indication of the Team’s readiness ahead of the competition,” Al Menhali said.
“The athletes, both men and women, enter with strong ambition to deliver solid performances that reflect the work done during the preparation period. It shows our team members are fully ready to compete at highest level thanks to the tailored training programmes we organised.”
Coaching Staff Focused on Mental and Technical Readiness
Head coach Gabriel Alves emphasized the need for mental sharpness and technical execution in such a competitive environment.
“The level of competition is very close, which makes attention to detail essential,” Alves said.
“The coaching team has focused on preparing the athletes to deal with different styles and improve decision-making in key moments. We are confident they can deliver performances that reflect the work done in recent months.”
UAE Eyes Top Positions at Continental Event
The UAE National Team enters the competition with high expectations and ambitions to reinforce the nation’s strong standing in international jiu-jitsu.
Backed by a structured preparation programme and a deep roster of talented athletes, the team will look to challenge for top podium finishes throughout the week in Sanya.
