The event was headlined by a middleweight title clash where Sean Strickland reclaimed the championship, handing Khamzat Chimaev the first loss of his professional career in a massive upset.
Strickland, entering as a significant underdog, utilized his signature jab and defensive wrestling to survive early grappling from Chimaev. After the fight, Chimaev signaled a move to the light heavyweight division.
Joshua Van and Tatsuro Taira earned Fight of the Night honors for their grueling back-and-forth battle that ended with a late stoppage by Van.
Additional $100,000 performance bonuses were awarded to Jim Miller for his first-round guillotine submission of Jared Gordon and Yaroslav Amosov for his second-round submission of Joel Alvarez.
