BOWMANVILLE, ON – David Thorndyke is set to make his return to the NASCAR Canada Series this weekend, piloting the No. 67 Promotive Chevrolet in the 2026 season-opening event at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) on Sunday, May 17th.
After a full year away from competition, Thorndyke and his team are coming back focused, prepared, and motivated. The hiatus wasn’t by design—plans to compete in last fall’s event were cut short when mechanical issues surfaced just prior to practice, forcing the team to withdraw before turning a single lap.
That setback has only fueled their determination.
“We’ve got some unfinished business here,” said Thorndyke. “Last year was tough to swallow, but it pushed us to come back stronger. The preparation has been meticulous, and we’re eager to see what the hard work during the off-season looks like on track.”
Behind the scenes, the team has left nothing to chance. Every system has been reviewed, refined, and tested to ensure they arrive at CTMP fully ready to compete.
Practice and qualifying are scheduled for Saturday, setting the stage for Sunday’s 51-lap main event on the fast and demanding road course as the 2026 NASCAR Canada Series kicks off its 2026 campaign.
