Unfortunate Update on Nikki Bella’s WrestleMania 42 Status

Nikki Bella’s WrestleMania 42 status just took a concerning turn as the WWE Hall of Famer was just spotted wearing a walking boot just days before the event.

This comes from Las Vegas today, where Nikki Bella was spotted meeting a fan alongside Brie Bella ahead of WrestleMania weekend. What stood out immediately wasn’t the meet-up—it was the fact that Nikki is still wearing a walking boot just three days before the show.

That visual alone is raising major doubts about whether she’ll be medically cleared in time for her scheduled match. With WrestleMania 42 right around the corner, the timing couldn’t be worse.

This is right after weeks of uncertainty following the ankle injury she suffered on the March 27 episode of SmackDown. While there had been hope internally that she could recover in time, WWE has already been preparing contingency plans in case she can’t compete.

During a recent WrestleVotes Q&A, it was made clear that backup options are already in place if Nikki isn’t cleared, with multiple teams ready to step in without disrupting the structure of the planned Women’s Tag Team Championship match.

“If Nikki Bella isn’t cleared, they’ll throw another team in there—whether that be The Kabuki Warriors or they can go with Roxanne and Raquel very easily. I know there’s hope that The Bella Twins make it.”

Now, with Nikki still in a walking boot just days out, that backup plan feels less like a precaution and more like a real possibility. The original match for night one on April 18 was set to feature The Bella Twins in a four-way tag team bout, but this latest sighting suggests WWE could be forced into a last-minute change depending on her medical clearance.

Nikki Bella being seen in a walking boot this close to WrestleMania 42 changes the situation completely, and unless something shifts quickly, WWE may have no choice but to move forward without her.

Do you think Nikki Bella still finds a way to compete at WrestleMania 42, or should WWE go ahead with a replacement team? Drop your thoughts below and leave your feedback.
