Valorant Duos Day Capsule May 2026: Price, Contents, Release Date

Riot Games has dropped the Duo Day capsule in Valorant today, May 14, as part of Patch 12.09. No weapon skins. Just adorable ducks, geese, and matching accessories for you and whoever you force into your ranked lobby every night.

What Is the Duo Day Capsule?

The Duo Day bundle is actually two separate capsules sold alongside each other — one for a solo player and one for a duo. The cosmetics across both lean hard into a duck and goose theme, which fits neatly with Riot’s recent trend of bird-themed accessories in limited capsule drops throughout 2026.

The clever part is in the design. When both duo capsule items are equipped at the same time, the two player cards combine to form a heart. There is also a third solo card that complements both, meaning a trio can technically run the full set together for a matching three-way look. It is the kind of thing that sounds low-key until you are in a lobby and notice three people have coordinated their player cards into a heart formation.

What Is in Each Capsule and How Much Does It Cost?

Neither capsule includes weapon skins. Both are accessories-only, which keeps the price accessible relative to Valorant’s full skin bundles.

The solo capsule costs 618 VP and contains the solo-player accessories from the Duo Day set. The duo capsule costs 1,520 VP and contains the matching pair of items designed to work alongside a queue partner’s solo capsule. If your duo is light on VP right now, Valorant’s gifting feature lets you send them the bundle directly — no excuses for mismatched cards.

Like most limited capsules, items must be purchased as a complete bundle. Individual pieces cannot be bought separately.

Duo Day Has Become a Valorant Tradition

This is not the first time Riot has done this. The original Duo’s Day Capsule launched in February 2024, though its origin story is notable: the cosmetics were initially announced as a free login bonus before Riot quietly shifted them into the paid store. Community reception to that decision was predictably mixed.

The 2025 edition, known as the Duo’s Day Haz & Matt Capsule, arrived alongside Act 3 of that season and was well-received, running in the store until mid-May 2025. The demand for that capsule was enough that a follow-up was widely anticipated, and this year’s duck-and-goose version is the result.

Each year Riot has iterated on the concept slightly — new characters, new designs, new gimmicks. The combined-heart card mechanic in this year’s version is a step up from previous editions, adding an actual interactive reward for both players actually buying and equipping the set together.

What Else Is Happening in Patch 12.09

The Duo Day capsule is dropping on a busy patch day. Valorant Patch 12.09 is one of the bigger updates of the 2026 season, covering ranked system overhauls, Neon mobility nerfs, Initiator cooldown adjustments, and previews of upcoming limited-time game modes including a new Spike format and a Replication mashup. Riot also teased future changes targeting Sentinels, with the Veto and Bandit systems flagged for upcoming updates.

The capsule is available in the store alongside the Kuranami 2.0 bundle, which has already been live for a few days. Both are limited-time offerings, so the Duo Day capsule will not be in the store indefinitely.

Should You Buy It?

That depends entirely on whether you have a regular duo. If you play Valorant primarily with one other person and you both want a matching set of accessories without spending on weapon skins, the combined 2,138 VP for both capsules is reasonable by Valorant’s standards. If you are a solo queue player who queues alone and has no interest in coordinating player cards with anyone, the solo capsule at 618 VP is a low-commitment pick for the duck aesthetic alone.
