Part five of our Sea Otter Classic coverage zeroes in on smarter bag systems, adaptable cockpit parts, and a few thoughtful component updates. Along the way, Neil checks out Old Man Mountain and Robert Axle Project, more 32-inch suspension developments from SR Suntour and KS, and Tout Terrain’s new Catalina prototype. Watch it here…
Part five of our Sea Otter Classic video coverage shifts the focus back toward gear and accessories with several useful products and incremental evolutions that that might be of interest to our readers: smarter luggage systems, flexible cockpit parts, repair-conscious components, and gear aimed at making things a little simpler.
The video opens with Old Man Mountain and Robert Axle Project’s new Manzanita handlebar cradle system. Developed with input from Salsa Cycles, the setup is designed with clever strap routing, adjustable arms, and multiple mounting points. Old Man Mountain also walked through the company’s growing lineup of rack- and cage-based bag systems, including new 5L and 7L FlipCage bags and their evolving top-deck rack packs.
And, as you might have expected, this video also continues along the event’s broader 32-inch theme, this time with more suspension options from SR Suntour and KS. Suntour’s new Raidon 32 fork is positioned as an affordable entry point into the larger wheel size, while KS showed an in-development 32″ fork and a new wireless Rage dropper post with multiple fail-safes, including manual operation if either battery dies.
Last but not least, Tout Terrain also previewed the Catalina, a trail-oriented hardtail prototype that marks the German brand’s first real step toward derailleur-based mountain bikes, while still keeping bikepacking versatility in the mix with plenty of mounts and rack compatibility.
